Two down-on-their-luck jazz musicians find themselves out of a job and on the run after the police raid the speakeasy where they perform and they inadvertently witness a gang war. With no money and nowhere to hide, they join an all-female band headed to Florida. Armed with dodgy wigs and wobbly falsettos, Joe and Jerry settle into their new identities — especially after meeting the gorgeous Sugar Kane — but things soon begin to spiral out of control...
