Fascinat de curentul suprarealist, Francis Falceto decide, la vârsta de 17 ani, să trăiască o viață extraordinară. În anii 1980, el co-fondează asociațiile l'Oreille est Hardie și Le Confort Moderne, lăsându-și amprenta asupra culturii underground din Franța. Un disc descoperit din întâmplare deschide un nou capitol important din viața sa : muzica etiopiană, al cărei susținător devine.

În încercarea de a înlesni accesul și a populariza acest gen de muzică, Falceto salvează de la uitare sute de înregistrări și viniluri. Astfel, devine creatorul unei colecții fără egal, o reprezentare muzicală a unei țări: Ethiopiques.

Documentarul Ethiopiques Magnetic Suite este portretul unui om discret dar important și o explorare a culturii underground.

Dazzled by the surrealist movement, Francis Falceto decided at the age of 17 to live an extraordinary life. In the 1980s, co-created l'Oreille est Hardie and Le Confort Moderne in Poitiers, leaving his mark on French underground culture. A record he discovered by chance opened another important chapter in his life: Ethiopian music, of which he became a great champion.

He wanted to make it accessible and popular. He rescued hundreds of masters, vinyls and K7s from oblivion. He created a collection that remains unrivalled today, the musical image of an entire country: Ethiopiques.

Ethiopiques Magnetic Suite is the portrait of a discreet and important man, and a dive into counterculture, an invitation to live his his life.

Stéphane Jourdain, CEO of La Huit Production, studied ethnomusicology before turning to film production and direction. He has directed portraits of personalities who have played a major role in the discovery and knowledge of music: Deben Bhattacharya, Rémy Kolpa Kopoul, Francis Falceto – the éminences grises of the art of sounds.
