1939. The world is descending into chaos. Thousands of distinguished Poles are taken captive by the Soviets and subjected to indoctrination as part of a larger political scheme. An ambitious enemy agent becomes determined to break the spirit of one particular prisoner — a world-famous young pianist admired by his fellow inmates.
